Happiness Bulugu - “I am a Swahili native speaker. I grew up in Dar es salaam Tanzania. After attending primary school, I went to secondary school in Kisarawe Lutheran Junior Seminary, and high school (Advanced Secondary education) in Agape Lutheran Junior Seminary in Tanzania.
I attended the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania for my B.A. in education majoring in linguistics and literature. I have taught English as a second language in Tanzania and received a certificate to teach Swahili. I came to the U of O through the Fulbright Scholarship in Foreign Language Teaching Progran, (FLTA) Recently I've been taking classes to pursue a M.A. in the Language Teaching Specialization Program at the U of O. Since I was young I learned English as a second language. I love the way my instructors taught, read fun stories, and conducted debates. In my education in Linguistics I learned much about language teaching, comparing and analyzing data from different languages.
I began working for WLA on Sept 12, 2008 as a Kiswahili language teaching assistant. My goal is to become a competent Language Teacher and to be able to integrate language skills and technology with appropriate communicative competence.” |
