WHY STUDY SWAHILI?

Swahili, or Kiswahili, is a Bantu language that has linguistically united between 30 and 50 million people in 10 east African countries. It is the official language of Kenya and Tanzania, and serves as the primary language of roughly five million people. Its linguistic influence extends to the U.S. as well. “Safari,” for example, is actually the Swahili word for “journey.” If you want to work, travel or study in eastern Africa, learning Swahili is a good first step!
